Thaya and March/Morava rivers are the only lowland rivers in Austria with a wide variety of floodplain landscapes and beautiful loops, which provides the perfect habitat for wildlife. Paddling the Thaya through Castle Ruins and dense vegetation is the best scenic getaway.
While we were discovering the beautiful small town of Marchegg and its surroundings, we bumped into the floodplains of the March/Morava River. That’s how the idea of kayaking from Breclav (the Czech Republic) to Marchegg (Austria) came out, and it turned out to be a great weekend getaway!
